Inspiration: BOOKS

First of, I should probably give you a list of all the books I've hoarded as inspiration
  • Origami Boxes by Alexandra Dirk
    • A good book but there are some errors in the instructions where the images are reversed and unless you know exactly where the error is and how to correct it, you're likely going to get very confused.
  • Extreme Origami by Kunihiko Kasahara
    • NOT FOR BEGINNERS
    • Most of the models do not come with clear instructions and/or are in various locations in the book.
    • Great book to show the range of origami as it gives models for designs using just creases, modular origami, fabric origami, and origami strictly as sculpture
    • Personal Favorite: The Tamatebako gift box
      • Starts off as a cube
      • Unfolds on all six sides to become an organic shape
  • Geo-Gami Kit by Katherine A. Gleason
    • Comes with instruction book and paper
    • Fantastic for beginners
    • Simple folds and models with some modular units thrown in
  • Geometric Origami by Faye E. Goldman
    • Kit: comes with instructions and paper
    • Covers models that use long, thin strips of paper.
  • Kusudama Origami by Ekaterina Lukasheva
    • LOVE this book
    • Ranges from simple models to expert
    • Great illustrations and example photos
  • Modern Kusudama Origami by Ekaterina Lukasheva
    • Sequel to Kusudama Origami
    • Illustrations are not as good, but are still pretty easy to follow
    • Brand new models, not a reprint of her first book
  • Modular Origami Kaleidoscope by Ekaterina Lukasheva
    • 3rd book in series
    • Better illustrations than the 2nd book
    • Brand new models
  • Exquisite Modular Origami by Meenakshi Mukerji
    • Instructions can be a little difficult to follow
    • Black and white sample photos don't show off models well
  • Exquisite Modular Origami II by Meenakshi Mukerji
    • Instructions can be a little difficult to follow
    • Black and white sample photos don't show off models well
  • Ornamental Origami by Meenakshi Mukerji
    • Color sample photos and illustrations
    • Hefty book
  • Origami Inspirations by Meenakshi Mukerji
    • A lot of models are based off of flowers
    • Very well designs book compared to first two
